Funtastic Greetings

You can now download one of the exciting new Funatstic Greetings to your Call Answer mailbox. You will simply have to call the premium rate number 0867 111 100, where voice prompts will take you through the process step-by-step. Calls will be charged at R1,90 (incl VAT) per minute or any portion thereof. For a preview of the various message options that are available, you can visit www.funtastic.co.za, where you can listen to the different greetings online. Having chosen a greeting from one of the four categories - humorous, musical, celebrity or professional - you can then call 086 7111 100, quote the relevant message code and download the greeting. Please note that you can phone the Funtastic Helpdesk number, 0861 101 202, should you experience any difficulty when downloading a message.

Funtastic Greetings are only available to Call Answer subscribers. Customers that subscribe to Basic Voicemail can not download one of these greetings.

The Call Answer has the following features:

  • Free home message retrieval by dialling 10120
  • Choose between a standard/name, personal or Funtastic greeting
  • Access to messages is PIN protected
  • You will be notified of new messages via interrupted dial tone or outcall notification
  • Retention of up to 15 Messages for 10 days
  • Even if your phone line is out of order, Call Answer will still take messages for you
  • The Call Answer user instructions are available in five languages: English, Afrikaans, Xhosa, Zulu and Sesotho.
Enhanced Features

Auto Callback - whilst retrieving messages from your phone, you can now return calls on a per message basis to the original calling number, or an alternative number of your choice. Calls are charged at standard rates. This feature will however not be available to customers with BlockCall or BlockCall Plus.

How?

Dial 10120 from your own phone or 10121 from any other phone and follow the voice prompts.

Call Answer immediate - allows you to divert all calls automatically to your voice mailbox without the phone ringing, so you don't have to be disturbed at all. This feature will ensure that all your calls are diverted to your voice mailbox.

How?

Press *64# to activate and press #64# to deactivate.

Greetings for busy and no reply conditions - customise your mailbox for busy and no reply conditions separately, so that callers can determine whether you are busy on the telephone or not available at all. This feature will ensure that the correct personal or standard greeting is played to the person calling you.

How?

Press *65# to receive messages while you are busy on the phone and #65# to deactivate or Press *66# to receive messages when your telephone remains unanswered and #66# to deactivate.

Different number of rings option - enables you to set the number of rings before a call is forwarded to your voice mailbox. You now have the freedom to choose between 1 and 60 seconds, which translates to a maximum of 20 rings. Current standard setting is only 7 rings.

How?

Decide on the number of rings that you would like your phone to ring before the call is diverted to your voice mailbox. Press *67* followed by the number of seconds, followed by the # key. (See easy setup table)

Reminder service - remind yourself or others of important appointments and activities which need to be attended to, by programming voice messages in advance. Messages can be delivered to any fixed line or cellular number with a mailbox. Reminders can then be sent to single or multiple recipients up to 31 days in advance. Reminder service will not be available to customers subscribing to Block Call, Block Call Plus or to suspended customers.

How?
Dial 10120 from your own phone or 10121 from any other phone and follow the voice prompts.

Calls terminated either by an answering device or a person answering the phone, are regarded as answered calls and are therefore billed accordingly

  • Call Answer can be provided only on direct, single-lines, exchange resources permitting. It can be applied where there is more than one telephone instrument connected to a single direct line
  • Unfortunately Call Answer does not work on switchboards, or on hunting lines
  • You will be notified of new messages by an interrupted/stutter dial tone. Due to this interrupted dialling tone, you might experience difficulty when trying to connect to the Internet (if you have a new message in your mailbox). You can either listen to your message by dialling 10120 or set you computer to ignore dial tone by doing the following:
    • Go to start
    • Settings
    • Control panel
    • Modems
    • Select modem
    • Properties
    • Connection
    • Unmark the "Wait for dial tone before dialling" option
    • OK;
    • Close;
  • By dialling Telkom's Call Centre (10219) you can also request that they provide you with OutCall Notification rather than stutter dial tone as a message waiting notification. How to activate OutCall Notification from your telephone:
    • Dial 10120
    • Enter your extension number and press the # key
    • Enter your secret code and press the # key
    • Press 3 to change your personal options
    • Press 3 for message waiting notification
    • Press 1 to turn OutCall Notification on
    • You are prompted: "OutCall Notification is on"
    • Press 2 to set up OutCall Notification
    • Press 1 to set up your first schedule for message waiting notification outcalls and follow the voice prompts.
